We went the first week of the holidays in July. It was a windy week so only got 5 of 9 days. Went to Turoa on the last day and enjoyed 15cm of fresh snow.
Went for a walk on the old coach road old train viaduct. Well worth doing. There is an old tunnel to see along the way and the new train viaduct.

Anyone want to ski at Silver Star/Vernon, B.c. Canada in Feb 2011? I'm looking to do a house swap on the North Island during that time. I live in Vernon and it is a half hour drive to Silver Star. Visit their website. There are some friends in Rotorua who have swapped and a large group from Australia. Sharon

25th July, my first time on the ski feilds and skis.. i would be a rich person if i was paid for every time i took a tumble, however i didn`t let it dampen my enthusiasm and aim do do better.. according to the Ski tutors they classed it as the perfect day, brilliant sunshine, no wind, warm, excellent day alround. I want to say thanks for allowing us the opportunity to stay at the Lodge. Great place, great people, great hosts, awesome accomadation and great atmospere with interacting with people from other parts of the country and overseas. Thank you Bernie for sharing your knowledge of sking and the background of how the Ski lodge was established. Our Team from Te Kohao Health (Hamilton) want to acknowledge your organisation for and excellent initiative that really opens doors to helping people from all levels and cultures. Saw the news on 26th July Saturday evening and things didnt look to good on the moutain then No reira, Kia pai ta koutou hakinakina i runga i te hukapapa o Ruapehu (want to wish yous a positve and most enjoyable day on the snow at Ruapehu) Rei & team at Te Kohao Health.

Sue & I headed down to the mountain early on the 18 of July. Was misty and lightly raining up the waterfall so headed back down to the club. The painting and curtains look fantastic.

Mel and I had a great Labour weekend, although the weather stopped us from playing in the snow for much of it.
We've met some great people as 1st year members. Its fair to say, some of them were quite madd though! I suspect a few fell on their head a bit too much?
Packed away our snow gear today which is a bit sad. But looking forward to staying over summer!
