We went down to national park on Friday and came back Tuesday night.
The weather on Saturday was horible, but Sunday were awesome!Every day that we were there,we went to the hot pools in tokaanu, and dad put a huge heap of dsc brochures in the brochure stand there.
We had an awesome time and we are hoping to go skiing again soon.

There are photos of our last ski trip for you to view at the site shown.

We went Friday night 2/7/4. Saturday saw bad weather so we only went to the hot pools in Tokaanu. Sunday saw snow everywhere and 30cm on Whakapapa, 50 at Turoa. Road restrictions were reduced to 4WD or chains at 10:30 so we got half a day's skiing in. Monday and Tuesday were perfect days with another 5cm of new snow on Monday.

I went down Wed 15th October for 2 days skiing. Fantastic snow and weather on both days. I skied Whakapapa on Wednesday and Turoa on Thursday. Both still have heaps of snow - get there soon.

We went down Friday 19th to Saturday 27th September 2003 staying on the mountain, except for the first night. We got to ski on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. The second half of the week saw rain and whiteout which lasted well into the week following. The upper Mt. didn't open between Sept 25 and Oct 4. The skiing we did get was on new snow which was nice. We got Sarah doing a snow plough and skiing on the West ridge quad.
Members were surprised there was no cook due to Fiona's injury and annoyed that they had to take turns at cooking on their holiday. I do think the committee should have sorted out a replacement cook.
Hopefully we can get some more skiing in before the end of the season.

Christine,Kim & Sarah went on Sept 6/7/3. Stayed at Nat Park both nights as weather looked like it may be bad Sunday. Turned out Sunday was fine and clear.
Christine and Kimberley skied West Ridge while I taught Sarah to snow plough. I went back for night skiing on Rock Garden. Windy but otherwise fine.
I skied with Sarah on Hut Flat rope tow and got her ploughing. Went to Knoll ridge cafe for lunch, skied Cinder Track Platter with Sarah then back to Nat Park.
Had swim at hot pools on the way home. A great weekend.

We went down Sat. Left Auckland 4:20am got to ToB at 8:20am. Skiing by 10:00am. Got to lodge for lunch to find Fiona has injured herself badly and wont be back for a couple of weeks. Cracked ribs, bad back etc. Get well soon Fiona.

After lunch Kimberley stayed in so I skied the far west T alone. Cloud came and went so the queue was short.

Dinner was cooked by some volunteers and was very good. Dinner conversation was of its usually high standard and very entertaining.

On Sunday Kim & I skied the West Ridge Quad. The snow was great as it was fresh and still snowing on and off. After lunch Christine went to West Ridge and I put Sarah on skis.

We went to Tokaanu hot pools on the way home. A great weekend. Now to catch up on some sleep!

This trip was our first in our 99 Forester. A great car with 2.5 litre engine. It uses a bit less fuel than our 2.0 Legacy did.
