With such a wet summer, surely we aill get a great ski season. Stands to reason doesn't it????????
This is just a very short newsletter to keep you all up to date with activities happening from now to the beginning of the season.
The AGM happened as planned on 30th November 2003, but we didn't see as many members there as we had hoped. We had a nice afternoon with a couple of drinks and a BBQ after the official business was taken care of. If you weren't aware our Treasurer Ivan Findlay retired after many years on the committee. Thank you so much Ivan for you help keeping our finances in order. Welcome to Steve Chaney as our new Treasurer. I am sure he will fill Ivans shoes splendidly.
Working Bee 27-28 March 2004
Come down and join us for a fun weekend. The more the
merrier and the faster our little chores are done.
The first working bee we had to cancel due to lack of
interest from members (I know it was short notice for most), but I am sure
you all want a nice club to stay in and some fire wood etc for the upcoming
ski season. So come on down and lend a helping hand. Don't forget you get an
accommodation credit for your help.
It would be lovely to see as many people down there to help keeping our club nice and well looked after. If time and weather permits some of us will attempt a crater walk.
Snow Show 3rd-7th June
We haven't booked a stand yet, but we were quite successful last year in raising intrestin the club, so I am looking for volunteers to help on the stand. It is a reasonably expensive exercise, therefore it will only happen if I get volunteers. Those of you who put in an effort will be awarded with accommodation credits and free entry to both the boat and snow show. Please ring me 838 9683 or 025 223 1125 soon and let me know if you are available.
2004 Season Passes
The 2004 season passes go on sale 1st April 2004 at $299 for adults, $259 for students, $169 for 16 years and under. These prices are valid for April only.
Payments and bookings
We have now got the booking form working on the web site. I would really encourage you to use it if you have access to the internet (the club web site is www.skiclub.org.nz). Click here to go to the booking page. When you have filled in the booking form, it is emailed to the booking officer and a copy gets emailed to yourself as well. I have had a couple in the late part of the season and I think it works well.
Don't forget that the club is available for bookings all year around.
